The Dental Assistant School of Atlanta would like to congratulate these recent graduates for completing dental assistant training. All your hard work really paid off. We know that each of you will become the very best dental assistant you can be and we wish you all the best of luck.
Dental assistant training occurs in various areas of dental health to help dentists perform procedures and care. This includes support for cosmetic dentistry. While many treatments with this label are cosmetic in nature, quite a few are also restorative and can solve numerous oral problems.
Some of the different cosmetic dentistry procedures that a dental assistant can help with are the following:
Bonding – Many dental assistants will use bonding while being supervised by a dentist. Compared to other restorative treatments, bonding can sometimes be chipped or stained. For chipped or decayed teeth, composite resins may be used. Small cavities can also be filled by bonding.
Crowns – Crowns will last the longest of all cosmetic dentistry. Crowns or caps are used to cover a tooth in order to restore its appearance and shape. Caps are generally among the most expensive and time-consuming of the cosmetic procedures.
Bleaching or Teeth Whitening – One of the most common cosmetic dentistry services that dental assistants help with is teeth whitening. Whitening can be used to eliminate stains caused by food and drinks, medications, and cigarettes, or to make the teeth whiter by a shade.
